Like everyone, I have a love-hate relationship with my hair. Mostly hate. Some days I love it, while on others, I feel like going bald. But I have a thing for long hair, hence I never cut it beyond a certain length I try to take care of it (well, only occasionally), and on the days I do, I slather on a palm-ful of oil on my scalp and a generous amount on the ends before I shampoo. I suffer from terrible split ends (blame it on the hair dryer and sun) but don’t do much about it, well, because I’m lazy. So when my sister bought this gigantic tub of L’Oreal Hair Spa for herself, I showed her a greedy, toothy grin and she knew this was gone. But that’s what sisters are for, right?

Packaging: L’Oreal Hair Spa comes in a large, aqua green colored tub with a silver lid. I haven’t travelled with it but it seems sturdy and travel friendly to me. Also, I like the fact that the wide mouthed jar makes it easy for me to spoon out a generous amount of the cream in one go.
Color and Scent: The creamy conditioner is pure white in color and has a sweet aquatic-floral scent to it which I adore! The scent seems pretty nice when you massage it in your hair. I feel that L’Oreal Hair Spa with Water Lily really justifies the name in terms of its fragrance!
My Overall Experience: So as I already told you, I stole it from my sister! we are an entire family of dry hair, so a product like this was given a warm welcome! I am pretty lazy when it comes to hair care. The most significant thing I do in the name of hair care is applying oil, which I already told you guys about, and more often, I forget that too. Hence, a good hair conditioner is something I need to make my hair look at the very least somewhat presentable. I have waist length hair.
The first time I used L’Oreal Hair Spa, I massaged a couple of palmfuls of the product through the entire length and scalp into shampooed and towel-dried hair. As instructed, I kept massaging the conditioner for a good 10-15 minutes and rinsed thoroughly. One thing: it takes shit load of water to get this out of your hair. I was standing in the shower for a good 5-8 minutes removing traces from my hair. The product is quite greasy and you will never know when it is completely rinsed off, hence all the more confusion. So I suggest that you do this hair spa when you have at least a decent 30-40 minutes for a bath.
When my hair was finally rinsed, it felt smoother and healthier to touch. I towel dried my hair and then, as usual, used the blow dryer. I found that L’Oreal Hair Spa Deep Nourishing Creambath left my hair quite shiny and remarkably soft! I was impressed and excited to use it the second time around too!
Next, I used it a couple of weeks later, but this time, I did a few changes in the application. First, I didn’t towel dry my hair before applying the product. Next, I didn’t massage it continuously, but just left it in my hair after an initial massage. Third, I didn’t blow dry my hair post washing. This time, my hair didn’t feel as great post using this product. In fact, I do better using a regular conditioner only. However, on both occasions, I felt that it helped get rid of scalp dryness sufficiently.
So, the take away points are:
- Use only as directed. Ensure you are massaging it continuously through your hair and scalp for at least 10 minutes. And yes, do this on towel dried hair, not on hair dripping water.
- Try blow drying your hair if you are going out somewhere, else your hair may end up feeling pretty regular despite doing this significant exercise.
I feel the experience I had at home using this product was better than professionally done hair spas because this came at a fraction of the cost! I feel L’Oreal Hair Spa is definitely worth it as you can end up saving several thousand rupees worth of treatment by just investing in a single tub of product which you can easily use in the comfort of your home (despite the website and the jar screaming that it is for salon use only! Ha Ha!)

If you are taking enough care and loving your hair, then again, a hair spa is another feather in your hat! If you are a hair spa fanatic and get it done regularly at the salon, then this product is definitely for you.
