Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Elusive Review, Swatch, Price, Buy Online India

1

Honestly, tell me how many of you have bought something just because it was cute? I have! And I know every girl has, at some time or the other! I feel that these beauty brands have realized this fact, and hence have come up with these super adorable lipsticks, balms and tints in crayon forms! I mean, just how cute could a lipstick be than in a crayon packing! I really find these addictive, hence I got myself 2 of them! Clinique, I was eyeing your Chubby Sticks, but you’re so mean! You raised your prices!?! Why, oh why?? So I went to my trusted friend, Revlon, for these cuties 🙂

First, they had launched the Just Bitten Kissable balm stains, and then also came up with the Matte Lipstick cum Balm crayons, as well as lacquer balms. I got myself the Matte Balm in Elusive. So let’s get to the review!

Ingredients: Not mentioned. Not even on Revlon website! They have only mentioned that it contains shea, mango and coconut butters

Claims: Vibrant colors infused with a Triple Butter Complex give you a bold, beautiful lip. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel. Go bold and get moisturized in 10 craveable, collectible shades.

  • Velvety color + balm-like moisture
  • Infused with a Triple Butter Complex of shea, mango, and coconut butter
  • Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required

In India, they have launched only 8 of these:

  • Complex
  • Elusive
  • Sultry
  • Shameless
  • Mischievous
  • Audacious
  • Showy
  • Standout
  • Striking
  • Unapologetic

Packaging: This comes in a retractable crayon form. The plastic packing is really attractive, and is color-coded according to the shade. The cap is the same color as the body, and never opens in the bag on its own, hence very travel friendly. You twist the bottom silver portion to move the crayon.

Texture: This matte balm glides on the lips like a dream. It is really smooth and velvety. And it is not drying! The problem I face with most matte lipsticks is that they are too drying. And this one is not! Full points to all the butters that they have put in 🙂 Though sometimes when my lips are not very moisturized, I do find that it settles a bit in fine lines, but it is not as prominent as typical matte lipsticks, so I’m not complaining much.

Color and Pigmentation: This is a beautiful milky pink shade, which I just love! It is a slightly pale, lovely rose pink and is absolutely gorgeous, as it is not ‘in-your-face’, and I like it that way. One or two swipes give full color payoff.  To me, it seems to have slightly mauve undertones which are not very prominent on the lips.

Also, this has a minty scent to it, and would produce a mild cooling sensation on the lips as you apply it. This would last for a few minutes only, so nothing to worry.

How long will it last on lips? Well, this does last on the lips for about 3-4 hours only. If you eat a full lunch, then it won’t last. But if you’re not eating or drinking a lot, then it lasts 4 hours.

Where can I wear this color? This is something that I easily wear to office everyday. And I have been wearing it pretty often! It would complement you if you’re wearing heavy eye make-up and need something really light on the lips. It is a very fresh and light pink, which you can wear on formal occasions, in an office meeting, a girly brunch, a lunch date, anytime! And you can pretty much pair this lipstick with any outfit, whatsoever!!

Complexions it would suit: I feel that this would mostly suit fair and medium toned girls. Dusky girls would feel that it washes them out, as it is a pale color, hence you shouldn’t buy this.

Price: Rs 800 for 2.7 grams. (let’s not even get started on these exorbitant prices…these people will loot the hell out of us! Every makeup brand is going insane with the prices..I have to think 5 times before buying myself a new lipstick these days)

FFS Rating: 4/5 (I find it a bit expensive for a drugstore product, that’s it)

Where to Buy: Very easily available at Revlon counters in hypermarts, in Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, Dabur NewU. You can buy it online at Nykaa here.

Pros and Cons:

PROs:

  1. spectacular everyday shade, which will make you feel so pretty!
  2. Superb formula: despite being matte, it doesn’t dry out the lips
  3. Lasts 4 hours..so you don’t need touch-ups at least before lunch time!
  4. The crayon packing is cuteeee!
  5. This product is travel friendly
  6. You don’t need a sharpener for this product, as it comes in a retractable packing
  7. Has a great color payoff, so your crayon would last you quite long, as you need only a couple of swipes to achieve full color on your lips

CONs:

  1. At Rs 800, it is expensive for a lipstick
  2. You should thoroughly exfoliate your lips before wearing this, as it can make chapped lips appear worse (**as a matter of fact, any matte lipstick would make chapped lips appear worse, so wear a nourishing lip balm underneath)
  3. Won’t suit dusky girls, as the shade is pale
  4. Sometimes, when my lips are a bit dry, I find that it settles in the fine lines, but not as much as the regular matte lipsticks

Final Word: Fair or medium skinned girls looking for an everyday pink color should definitely lay their hands on this stuff! It has a great pigmentation, lasts for a decent time, and has a nice formula. Though pricey, I still like it as I wanted a crayon in my stash! I recommend that you get at least one shade from this range!

Sunsilk Perfect Straight Shampoo Review, Price, Buy Online India

1

Summers are finally here in full swing, and I’m sulking. Now comes the time for heat stroke, sweat, blazing sunshine, and sun-tans. I so not like the Indian summers 🙁 No matter what you do, you can’t keep cool enough. No matter what you do, you come back home with a bad tan, sweating profusely and with a terrible temper. I wish October comes soon…

As much as I hate the extremely hot summer, I hate drying my hair naturally after shampooing it. You ask why? Well, number 1: it takes ages to dry hair without a blow-dryer. Number 2: I’m ALWAYS left with hair so wavy and unmanageable, that I feel like washing it again and then getting hold of my beloved hair-dryer to get a better looking mane.

But now, after using this purple bottle of shampoo by Sunsilk, I’m quite ready to bid a good-bye to my blow-dryer. Read on to know why!

Ingredients:

4

Packaging: This shampoo comes in a pretty purple bottle with a flip-cap. The bottle is quite regular looking, but practical. I haven’t travelled with this bottle yet so can’t comment on the travel-friendliness, but it seems quite sturdy to me.

Claims:

3

How to use: You use it like a regular shampoo on wet hair. I have tried this shampoo on extremely oily hair, and it manages to remove every bit of oil and grease after lathering and rinsing twice.

Appearance and Fragrance: The shampoo is white in color with large glittery silver particles in it, which I quite like! The fragrance is sweet and like that of regular shampoos. It is pleasant but not extraordinary.

2

My Experience: This is after a long time that I’m using Sunsilk. When I was a kid, Sunsilk was a staple in our house. But with time, I found better shampoos and moved on to other brands. My Mom insisted that I try this shampoo as she had seen the advertisement and wanted me to try something for my extremely unmanageable hair, so we got this to try.

Frankly, I had low expectations.

But boy, oh boy! This is serious stuff we are talking about here.

When I used it the first time, I could feel my hair quite smooth and soft even in the shower. That day, I totally skipped using any conditioner to see the effect of this shampoo. And also, that very day, I skipped the blow-dryer, and let my hair dry naturally. It was after quite a while that I was skipping the dryer. Post my usual towel-dry, I left my hair to air-dry. What I was left with after a couple of hours was smoother hair, which was a little shinier than usual and hold your breath, straighter than usual!

I was very happy!!

I used this shampoo again after 2-3 days in a similar manner, and didn’t blow dry, and again, I felt the results repeating. I was truly impressed. Only on one occasion, I felt that my hair was feeling a little dry after using it, but since then, I try to oil my hair before shampooing (I forget or skip oiling due to being a complete lazy-bum..but still I try!)

5

I have been using this shampoo regularly for almost 3 weeks now, sometimes after heavily oiling the ends of my hair before shampooing, and sometimes I follow it up with The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter (read full review here). I have not felt the need to blow dry my hair after using this great product by Sunsilk. And every time, it leaves my hair very soft, smooth and straighter. Of course, it won’t leave you feeling that you have got rebonding/hair smoothening done, but for a girl like me with extremely wavy hair, it leaves my hair comparatively quite straight and healthier looking.

FFS Rating: 4.5/5

Price and Quantity: Rs 58 for 80 ml, Rs 115 for 180 ml, Rs 197 for 340 ml

Where to Buy: You can buy it online from any of the portals or from any hyper-marts. You can buy it online from Nykaa here.

6

Pros and Cons:

PROs:

  1. Leaves hair smooth, very soft with a healthy shine, and most importantly, straighter than usual
  2. Helps me skip the blow dryer as it leaves hair good enough even when dried naturally
  3. Effectively removes dirt and oil from the scalp
  4. Apparently free of parabens
  5. Washes off easily
  6. Very affordable
  7. Easily available

CONs:

  1. On one occasion, it left my hair a little dry
  2. For the geeks, it does contain SLS and silicones
  3. I don’t think it would do anything for girls with curly hair, but that is pretty obvious…

Repurchase: Certainly! I’m also going to try the conditioner from the same line. Well, since I’m loving Sunsilk so much, I intend to try all their shampoos now!

Final Word: I recommend this shampoo to all the girls with wavy hair, as you can feel this shampoo improving the appearance of your hair and you are really left with hair that is straighter. Don’t expect poker-straight hair, but hair that looks shinier and straighter than your natural hair. For a hair-dryer addict like me, this stuff has actually helped me reduce heat exposure to my hair. Do try!

Nestle Extra Smooth Chocolate Review, Price India

0

Smooth. I love this word! Have you noticed how some words are so perfect?! Like ‘Hope’, which always makes me imagine a horizon with a beautiful sunset, with boundless possibilities ahead. The word ‘Glamour’, which just makes one think of high fashion glossies and a ramp! Smooth, for me, is one such pretty word, as it is so perfect, and spontaneously implies something soft and glossy and buttery and beautiful!

Smoothness and chocolate are words which are deeply connected. A chocolate which is smooth is equivalent to a rich experience! Nestle has been launching some new chocolates which are claimed to be slow churned. I recently reviewed Nestle Kit-Kat Senses Dark, which you can read here. Though I wasn’t highly impressed with the wafer chocolate, I decided to give the milk chocolate a try, to know what the slow-churning did to the regular Nestle Milk Chocolate (apart from an exponential increase in the price!!!)

Ingredients: Sugar, Milk solids (22.7%), Cocoa butter, Cocoa solids and Emulsifier (Soya lecithin)

2

This is what ‘slow-churning’ is all about!

Packaging: A gold plastic foil made my hopes higher! I love golden packaging, especially for chocolates 🙂 But sadly, yet again, the inner regular foil is a boring silver one. Nestle, you could learn a lesson from Cadbury.

Nutritional Information:

3

Quantity and Price: Rs 40 for 36 grams! That too, for a milk chocolate! Who decides these prices, I wonder…

Appearance: Good news is that the chocolate is quite beautiful! Each piece is a tiny pyramidal structure (tiny tiny pyramid…see the picture!), which enhances the visual appeal.

4

Taste: Let’s get to main business now, friends! I was expecting the taste to be in line with Galaxy Smooth Milk, which is one of my favourite milk chocolates. This one smells nice and sweet and milky. The taste is very sweet and smooth. In fact it is almost as smooth as Galaxy. It completely melts in the mouth. But something in the taste reminds me of Bournvita! Gosh! In fact it really tastes a lot like Bournvita (well, stealing Bournvita from the kitchen cupboard post lunch has its benefits, you see! And don’t you judge me for still drinking it 😉 ) The good thing is that it is smooth. But the good things end there. It is wayyyy toooo sweet. And the high sugar content just deteriorates the feeling that you are eating chocolate. It doesn’t even come close to a regular Cadbury Milk Chocolate, which, according to me, is the best chocolate in India, with the perfect balance of sugar and cocoa. This Nestle Extra Smooth, despite being Extra Smooth, didn’t impress me. At all.

FFS Munchy Quotient: 2.5/5

Repurchase: Never. I didn’t like it much. I’d rather get a Galaxy.

Final Word: If you really wanna try, then do try, but if you are looking for an out-of-the-world milk chocolate experience, you’ll be severely disappointed. The smoothness factor makes me like it just a bit, but the sugar and the odd malty Bournvita-like taste makes this a complete let down. Better skip it! Oh, and it is expensive at Rs 40!

Cadbury Bournville Review: Rich Cocoa, Cranberry and Raisin & Nut Review, Price India

1

Woohoo, it’s Friday! Life seems better on a Friday, I feel most of you would agree. The great feeling of not having to get up early on a Saturday is just the icing on the cake. Plus, we get to live the life that we actually want to live, only on the weekends! But hey! Let’s not be sad. Let’s add some chocolate to our day. I feel that a chocolate makes us feel better pretty instantly. Not only are the antioxidants (in the dark ones at least..) a therapy for the body, but the aroma, the taste, the intoxicating flavour of chocolate culminate into a therapy for the soul.

In India, I find Cadbury chocolates among the best affordable ones. Till a few years back, when it was quite hard to find a Lindt or Godiva in India, I didn’t feel the need for these luxury chocolates so badly if I had my good-ol’ Cadbury in hand.

Bournville came to India quite a few years ago, and I remember being super happy that we finally had a good dark chocolate available so easily! At that time, Bournville had 44% cocoa content. Recently, the entire range was revamped, and even the chocolate has been re-formulated with 50% cocoa (I guess they finally realized that Indians have a thing for dark chocolate, and they want it to really be dark, not a sugar-laden dessert…) I realized that I hadn’t laid my hands on Bournville for quite some time, so got home all 3 variants recently! Let’s see if the new recipe is better or not 🙂

Variants: Right now, the 50% Cocoa Bournville has been launched in 3 variants only. It comes in the classic, Rich Cocoa variant that is plain dark chocolate, there is a Cranberry variant and then there is ‘Raisin & Nut’, which has cashew and raisins embedded in the bar.

Earlier, Cadbury had more variants like Hazelnut and Almond as well…why they haven’t introduced all these is beyond me.

Ingredients and Nutritional Count: Oh well, who checks the calories when having chocolate?? (If you do, we can’t be friends!!) But still, for the records…

2

3

Please zoom in a bit! You can click on the picture to enlarge it

Packaging: The regular foil, paper and plastic wrapping. However, like all things Cadbury, the foil is gold, which I always prefer over boring silver. It feels so much more regal!

Quantity and Price: It comes in a small size (for people like me, who need chocolate on the go!). The small size is for Rs 40 and you get 33g of chocolate for that.

The bigger pack is also available.

Appearance: It’s a gorgeous deep ‘cocoa’y brown! Chocolate is so beautiful to even look at!

4

Taste: Let’s check them out one by one

Rich Cocoa: This variant is my favourite: pure, unadulterated dark chocolate experience. The aroma is amazing and very inviting. The taste is a mix of sweet and dark, justifying the 50% cocoa content. The feeling it gives you is intense. It is very smooth on the palate and you won’t find any grittiness in the texture (some of the cheaper dark chocolates tend to have these coarse feeling in the mouth…). Overall, I love how smooth it is, how it leaves you asking for more, and the aftertaste is also quite nice.

FFS Rating: 4/5 (I just find it a bit too sweet..)

Raisin & Nut: You’ll find some tiny chunks of cashew embedded in the bar. The base chocolate taste is of course, same as Rich Cocoa. And it has some nuts and raisins, which provide another dimension to the texture. A must try if you are fond of nutty chocolates. But yes, the nut bits are quite small, so you won’t find them giving you a very significant taste of cashews. I personally love the raisins in this chocolate, but cashew is hardly there.

FFS Rating: 3.7/5

Cranberry: I was most looking forward to tasting this one. Looking at this bar of chocolate, I thought it was embedded with a lot of cranberries. But after a bite, I realized I was wrong. This one has almonds. Shouldn’t the name have been Cranberry & Almonds then? Well, after eating half the bar of chocolate, I realised that it contains NO CRANBERRIES AT ALL! The label claims that it contain 10% cranberry, so technically, this 33g bar should have had 3 grams of it, but not even 1? What a let down 🙁

FFS Rating: 2.5/5 (Cadbury, you should have named it Almond)

Overall Verdict: A very decent and pocket-friendly dark chocolate. I suggest you go for the Rich Cocoa variant, as it gives you an uninterrupted feel of eating a good dark chocolate. I personally found the other variants a bit disappointing. That being said, I still feel that this is the best budget dark chocolate in India. It wins on the flavour, the smoothness and the trueness of the dark chocolate experience. If you haven’t tried it yet (have you been living under a rock?!) then a MUST TRY.

Plum Angel Eyes Kohl Kajal and Posh Sharpener Review, Price, Buy Online India

1

An Indian girl can live without every makeup item, but not a Kajal! No matter how clichéd this sounds, but no one can take away the truth from this. Kohl is the ultimate vanity essential for every girl. With tonnes of kajals available nowadays, we are spoilt for choice.

Plum, a new online-only beauty brand is selling completely chemical free products. The good thing about Plum is that they put no parabens, phalates or other controversial stuff in their products, which makes it a safe brand to experiment with! They recently sent me the Angel Eyes Kajal. Did it leave my eyes angelic? Let’s find out…

Ingredients: This has been taken from Plum website:

Jojoba oil

Pronounced “ho-ho-ba” oil, jojoba oil is a skin-compatible naturally occurring “goody” that PLUM loves. Because it resembles the natural chemistry of sebum on skin, it has excellent healing and moisturizing properties to keep your eyes shining through the day

Macadamia oil

Rich in antioxidants, including squalene, a naturally occurring antioxidant present within our skin, macadamia oil makes this formulation supremely skin-compatible.

Chamomile flower extracts

Soothing, relaxing, and calming. Now you know what Angel Eyes is all about.

Mango seed oil

Bet you never thought about oil when you saw mangoes. Some of us did, and decided to include this really exquisite source of essential fatty acids and vitamins in our kohl kajal.

2

Claims:

  • Heavenly soft texture cushions your eye. All-day irritation-free wearing comfort.
  • 100% natural formula. Free of synthetic preservatives, dyes & fragrance Suitable for contact-lens wearers, those with sensitive eyes, and everyone looking for an everyday chemical-free kajal.
  • Rich “True Black” color with excellent coverage & long-lasting application. However, it should be noted that this is an all-natural kajal meant for inner eyelid application, and does not contain the chemical/synthetic ingredients that are essential for a fully smudge-proof or water-proof performance.
  • Soothing chamomile extracts, hydrating jojoba oil & nourishing macadamia and mango-seed oils for soft, nourished skin.
  • Excellent skin compatibility, suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Dermatologically approved.
  • Encased in a beautiful wooden pencil crafted from sustainably grown Weymouth Pine wood (FSC certified).
  • Natural Vitamin E ant Helps against ageing of skin.
  • Finished product not tested on animals.
  • Made in the EU and conforms to US, European and Japanese regulations.

Packaging: The kajal is wooden stick based, with a plastic cap on top to protect the kajal tip. It has the Plum logo on it in what else, plum color! The white kajal stick looks quite pristine 🙂 Upon reading the text on the stick, I came to know that this product has been manufactured in Czech Republic. The stick has the date of manufacturing and expiry printed on it, which I find really handy. I always love products that contain these thoughtful details.

Ease of Use: I found it quite easy to use the stick. Of course, it is not the retractable type, so sharpening becomes essential after a few uses. The kajal is quite smooth and soft on the skin and does not pull or tug at all.

Pigmentation: It gives quite a dark black color with 2 strokes. The color is quite intense.

3

My Experience: I have been using this kajal for a few weeks now. The best thing is the fact that it does not irritate my eyes at all. I have used it on my water-line and it never once caused redness or itching. I’m satisfied from this point as even Lakme Eyeconic had caused redness in my eyes. So I believe that it is actually free from all things harmful.

A small ouch comes from the fact that this kajal comes in a wooden stick that needs to be sharpened, which leads to some product wastage.

4

This is after a slight touch-up. You can still see how the kajal has smudged a bit at the outer corners.. (BTW, I have Maybelline Falsies mascara on my lashes 🙂 )

Staying Power: This is where my major concern lies. It does not last! When I use it early in the morning, it starts smudging heavily after 3-4 hours, so I’m left wiping my eyes with tissues 🙁 It also makes me feel quite conscious of myself as I have to keep checking myself in the mirror for panda eyes. However, I feel that since it is completely free of chemicals which make a kajal smudge-proof, it is only natural that this kajal smudges so much. And it is good to see that Plum has acknowledged the fact that this Kajal is not smudge-proof. This is what they have written in the claims:

  • Rich “True Black” color with excellent coverage & long-lasting application. However, it should be noted that this is an all-natural kajal meant for inner eyelid application, and does not contain the chemical/synthetic ingredients that are essential for a fully smudge-proof or water-proof performance.

After using the Colossals and Eyeconics and Magiques, we girls have become so used to smudge-proof kajal now, that it becomes really hard to use something so smudgy. This is a complete deal-breaker. Had it contained something natural which made it smudge-proof, it would have become a staple in my make-up bag.

Price: Rs 425 (right now, the company is giving away their Posh Sharpener free with it)

FFS Rating: 3/5 (the heavy smudging and low lasting power makes me deduct points 🙁 )

Pros and Cons:

PROs:

  1. Completely natural and free of chemicals that may be harmful
  2. Contains jojoba oil, macadamia oil and chamomile, which are claimed to be good for the skin
  3. The stick lasts you really long (even after 3 weeks of usage, I have used a mere 2 centimeters of the stick)
  4. Does not irritate eyes at all: no redness or itchiness
  5. The color is intense black in 2 strokes (well, at least till it lasts!)

CONs:

  1. Extremely smudgy: I’m dealing with tissues and hankies within 3 hours of application
  2. After 4-5 hours, I can barely detect that I’m even wearing kajal! It completely wears off. And I’m a lazy girl who is not very fond of reapplying makeup in the middle of the day…
  3. Sharpening of the pencil leads to product wastage
  4. A bit expensive for the deal, but the quantity is more than those of retractable kajals.

Where to Buy: You can buy this from Plum Goodness website here

Plum Posh Pencil Sharpener Review

Plum Posh Pencil Sharpener Review:

This is seriously awesome! Though I had hiccups with the kajal, but the sharpener is something I’m completely in LOVE with! I love the neon green cover and the contrasting purple sharpener body. This has been very very thoughtfully designed. You have space for regular 8mm pencils and Jumbo 12mm pencils. The lid on the top prevents the pencil dust from spilling. Also, you don’t have to search for a dustbin while sharpening the pencil (you can hear the lazy-lass speaking now :D) It also has this tiny plastic stick inside (called as cleaning stick) to clean up the blade and residual dust from the sharpener.

6

Plum Posh Pencil Sharpener Review

You can drop it in your bag without worrying about messing things up. Even the holes where you insert the pencil have tiny covers on them so that no dust etc enters the sharpener, and your makeup pencils remain clean. I really appreciate this thoughtful design! In all, a highly recommended tool for every girl.

7

Price: Rs 125 (right now, coming free with Angel Eyes Kajal)

FFS Rating: 5/5

Where to Buy: You can buy it from Plum Goodness website here

Final Word:

Angel Eyes Kajal is something I would recommend only to girls who have very sensitive eyes. The completely chemical free formula is quite good for the eyes, and never irritates them. However, the heavy smudging and low-lasting power is the only deal-breaker for the otherwise good kajal. So if you are a girl whose eyes water with regular kajal, go for this one if you’re ready to bear with the smudging and reapplication.

The Posh Pencil Sharpener is a complete makeup bag essential, extremely thoughtfully designed and mess-free. A MUST HAVE!

The Best Lip Balms in India: 13 Hand-picked Most Effective Lip Balms

DSCN1468

Being a lip balm fanatic is an understatement for me! I’m crazy, mad and addicted to lip balms. Well, I feel it is a healthy addiction as buying a new one makes me so happy! Being happy keeps one healthy, hence proved 😀

Researching and collecting lip balms is my favourite hobby! After trying literally tons of lip balms, this is my list of personally recommended lip balms, which I find most effective. Enjoy!

  1. Maybelline Baby Lips

Price: Rs 135-165

A cult favourite, features on number 1 in my list. Just look at how many of these I have (in the image on top) 🙂 These are my most favourite in terms of moisturization, flavours, cuteness factor and ease on the pocket. Pick up any one of them, either from the classic untinted ones (I recommend Lychee Addict, read complete review here), from the tinted range (My favourite is Pink Lolita) or the newly launched Baby Lips Electo Pops (Read complete review for Fierce N Tangy here). All of them are awesome lip moisturizers and have helped heal my chapped lips too. These also contain some SPF.

  1. Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm

Price: Rs 135 onwards

I feel these are the blockbuster lip balms of India! I mean seriously, every girl I know has owned at least one of these. Though not the most moisturizing for very chapped lips, I find them decently hydrating on days when my lips just need a hint of moisture. Plus, I LOVE their amazing flavour range! My latest addiction is the Fruity Shine in Peach (read full review here). I even love the Cherry flavour, the scent reminds me of sweet fruity jelly! You have got to have one of these ladies. Oh, and they have SPF 10 as well. Not very high, but still!

  1. Lotus Lip Therapy

Price: Rs 135

Lotus Lip Balms are one of my most trusted ones. I just couldn’t stop using the Cocoa Lip Therapy, which actually smells just like cocoa butter! And believe me, it was my first ever lip balm which I managed to completely finish (which is a mind-blowing achievement, considering the fact that I have at least 10 lip balms on me at any given moment!!) These are very very moisturizing, and come in great flavours too (I’m eyeing the Velvet Rose one next 😀 ). Definitely one of the best lip balm in India. Read full review here.

  1. Nivea Lip Butter

Price: Rs 189-200

If butter is a term that entices you, and lip butters excite you, then you can find one of the best ones in the form and shape of Nivea Lip Butters. You can read my full review for the Nivea Lip Butter in Cocoa flavour here. They come in adorable tins, and are my night time favourites due to their soothing lovely scents (caramel, cocoa, raspberry rose and blueberry) and buttery soft texture. They completely melt on the lips, making them soft and smoothing out lines. I find these to be one of the best investments, as a tin lasts you ages!

  1. The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm

Price: Rs 275

One of the best lip balms which is globally raved about. Even celebs love this one! It comes in a lot of great fruity flavours, is very decent on moisturization, and come from the house of TBS 🙂 What more do you need? I’m thinking of getting the Watermelon flavour in this!

  1. EOS Lip Balm Sphere

Price: Rs 450 onwards

The blogosphere has been going gaga over these since the time so many celebrities were spotted using these. You can read my full review for the Pomegranate Raspberry one here. 1. Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer

Price: Rs 149

The favourite for a fuss-free lady. Or a man. Neutrogena Lip Balm can even be used by men as it is non-tinted and does not leave any kind of glossiness on the lips. It just leaves the lips looking healthy and nourished.

  1. Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil

Price: Rs 400

Every beauty blogger’s favourite, this one is decently moisturizing. Though this variant doesn’t smell as great (it actually smells like pomegranate peel and something herby put together..), but it keeps the lips smooth over time and also imparts a healthy reddish tint to the lips. ‘Coz of this, I really like it a lot 🙂 Read full review of Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil here. 1. Himalaya Lip Butter

Price: Rs 125

I actually worship this one. It is sooo good! It has cocoa butter because of which it smells super yummy. It is butter in the truest way, as it leaves my lips buttery soft. At this price, I guess nothing can ever beat this one. Plus the jar is amazingly adorable! A MUST HAVE!!

  1. Oriflame Tender Care

Price: Rs 240

Can you see the elegant Victorian design on the lid? Well, that’s not the only factor for getting this tiny pot of wonder! I know, it looks way more expensive than it is. That makes it two points for buying this. And this really works wonders! Do you need more reasons to get this one??

  1. Biotique Bio Almond Overnight Therapy Lip Balm

Price: Rs 149

This is a great affordable lip balm if you’re looking for high moisture and healing power. Biotique has re-launched this lip balm in tube packing, as the tub packing wasn’t going down too well. Though a tiny bit waxy in texture, it does work wonders on lips, especially when used overnight.

  1. CO Bigelow Rose Salve

Price: ~Rs 450

I haven’t tried this one yet (honest!) but I’ve only read really good things about this one! It features high up on my wishlist, and I’m gonna get it as soon as I finish my next lip balm! This is a rose-infused petroleum jelly based product which can be used anywhere on the body. You can’t imagine how I’m controlling my urge to order this one right away 🙂 FYI: It comes from the house of Bath & Body Works

  1. Carmex Original Formula Lip Balm

Price: $1-2 each tube

The canary yellow tube isn’t only cute to look at, but it function well too! It works exceptionally well when my lips are quite chapped. It contains phenol and cocoa butter, a deadly combination which works quite well on cold sores and when the lips are extremely chapped. It leaves a mild cool and tingling sensation on the lips. Recommended for the people living in really cold regions of the world.

Well that’s it for today! If you have any favourites, do drop me a line, I’m all for trying new ones. You know me 🙂
